our company and founder
Our firm is dedicated to providing exceptional legal and business operations services with a focus on nonprofit organizations and construction firms. With years of experience, we offer expert guidance and strategic solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
Jolsna John Thomas is the Founder and CEO of Illuminating Growth PLLC, a legal and business consulting firm.
She previously served as President of The Rosendin Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of national construction company Rosendin Holdings, parent company to Rosendin Electric (Rosendin) and Modular Power Solutions (MPS). She oversaw this award-winning volunteerism and community giving program after successfully supporting the construction firm’s business development pursuits. Under her tenure, The Rosendin Foundation awarded over $4.2M to over 200 nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. It also launched TRF Camp Build, a weeklong hands-on construction camp for middle schoolers nationally. In addition to developing this workforce development programming, she also formulated the development plan and fundraised in excess of $600,000 annually.
Jolsna also served as the chief lawyer officer for the largest construction local union in the United States, Operating Engineers Local No. 3, having represented over 40,000 heavy equipment, testing and inspection, survey, and public employees in Northern California, Northern Nevada, Hawaii, and Utah.
Outside of work, Jolsna serves as President of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Austin Chapter as well as chairs the City of Austin’s Public Safety Civil Service Commission and the Associated General Contractors of America’s Culture of Care Committee. She serves on the Regional Advisory Committee for Austin Community College, is an Advisor to the South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA), and is a Director for SABA Austin.
Jolsna obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctorate from American University Washington College of Law.
Austin Business Journal has named Jolsna a Finalist for its Women in Business Awards in 2024 and 2025. Regional Hispanic Contractors Association awarded Jolsna the Luna Women of the Year A/C/E in 2022 and Business Advocate of the Year in 2019 and 2021. Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association awarded her the Advancement of Women’s Interest award in 2020. Finally, the South Asian Bar Association of North America awarded her a Cornerstone in 2013.
